Hybrid Bluegill Bream

This species is an aggressive feeder which does well in fresh and slightly brackish water (< 1 ppt). They are produced in ponds during late summer arid are ready for movement and stocking during fall and winter. They are offered only as small fingerlings. Typically, they are 95% males but with 5% females we recommend co-stocking with a predator as they reach 100 grams.

Culture Synopsis These fingerlings are harvested and shipped during fall and winter each year. Fish are shipped at 3-4 cm. They are already accustomed to feeding on a dry diet. At reasonable stocking densities (3-5000 per acre) they can reach 400 grams in 12 months growth.
