Largemouth Bass

This fish is an extremely popular sport fish as well as food fish. It is found in fresh and slightly brackish systems where it can grow to 20 pounds. It spawns annually in spring as water temperatures reach mid-60’s F. Largemouth are predators and must be carefully trained to consume a dry diet. They grow rapidly to 600 grams and can achieve this weight at 6-8 months of age.

Culture Synopsis We offer this fish as a 3-5 cm fingerling for stocking of lakes and ponds or for food fish grow out. They require frequent feeding and grading to reduce cannibalism problems. They adapt to dry or moist diets and may be cultured quite intensely to yield high production levels.
